My Morning + Night Skincare Routine
I've been really passionate about skincare lately. Call it aging, or call it desperate to get my skin looking flawless. Whatever the case, I like the direction I'm heading. Not too long ago I came into realization that those few years that I neglected taking care of my skin had started to show. When they say you should always cleanse your face before bed, that saying is there for a reason. I have been guilty of that way too many times. But I also started looking back at those years after kids came into my world. Yes, those days with a 3-year old in hand and a newborn were not completely easy, and half the time I forgot to really take care of myself. You know those days that blur into one and another.

For whatever reason it finally clicked this year that with all the advances in skincare, good skin is completely possible. I'm not sure what was stopping me earlier from seeing that, but I'm glad this year I made a vow to younger, and healthier looking skin. It's even better when you exercise and eat healthy {cue the eye roll}. But yes, I've noticed a big difference in my skin all due to a good skincare regimen, more greens in my diet, and exercise.
But anyway, I digress. Today I want to share those products that I'm really loving. I went from having a super low maintenance 3-step routine to a somewhat high maintenance routine. But trust me, the results are so worth it. And because I have somewhat complicated my day and night routines, I've turned to the new line of Kleenex Facial Cleansing products that have simplified and enriched my skincare regimen {keep reading to see why}.
I've broken my day and night routines into categories so that you can better visualize how I take care of my skin.
Morning RoutineCleanse1. I start my mornings by cleansing my face with a Kleenex Facial Cleansing Wipe. These wipes are my absolute favorite. They are alcohol-free and infused with a pro-vitamin complex. These versatile cleansing wipes allow me to get ready for my day in a smarter and efficient way, leaving me feeling radiant. I've tried almost every brand in the market, and these are by far the best.Correct + Hydrate2. I then apply Dior Capture Totale Multi-Perfection Eye Treatment, followed by a little dab of Onomie Illuminating Eye Treatment to highlight the eye area.3. I apply Aczone all over my face that was prescribed by my dermatologist for my rosacea.4. I've been using Obagi Nu-Derm Clear FX Skin Brightening Cream for my dark spots and apply it on my t-zone. It was also recommended by my dermatologist. I've been using it for about a month and my dark spots are barely noticeable now.5. I then apply bareMinerals Bare Haven moisturizer to my face and neck.Protect6. I end with Nature Bisse NB-Ceutical Extra Smooth High Protection SPF 50. It's pricey, but living in Miami this is the one product that I must have in my beauty bag. It's an exceptional sunscreen as it's a treatment cosmetic that protects the skin against UV rays and strengthens the skin’s auto-defense system. I love that it doesn't leave my skin looking white like some other sunscreens in the market. It also hydrates, soothes, prevents and corrects dark spots, and delays skin aging. It's extremely gentle and soothes even the most sensitive skin.7. Throughout the day, if I'm in the sun, I spray this Super Goop Defense Refresh Setting Mist SPF 50 on my face. I like to buy the mini size to carry it in my handbag.Makeup8. If I'm wearing makeup for the day, I then proceed to apply this Makeup Forever Ultra HD Concealer under my eyes, and dark spots. Then, I apply this Chantecaille 'Future Skin' Foundation, and Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral SPF 45 Translucent Powder. They all go on smoothly without appearing cakey. I then proceed with the rest of my makeup routine.9. If needed throughout the day, I'll dab my t-zone with a Kleenex Shine Away Sheet.Night RoutineI've been dedicated to my nightly routine without missing a step for the last couple of months and the drastic improvements are noticeable. My skin is looking more even, my dark spots are quickly disappearing, and my face is more radiant. This gives me assurance that I'm using the right products for my skin.Cleanse1. I first start by cleansing my face with bareMineral Oil Obsessed Cleanser. I gently rub it all over my face and I use a Kleenex Cotton Soft Pad to remove my makeup. For my eyes, I use a Kleenex Eye Makeup Remover pad with a little of the Oil Obsessed Cleanser, if needed.Polish2. The next step is to use an exfoliating wipe. I recommend a Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha-Beta Daily Peel, and two to three times a week substituting the daily peel with the Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Wrinkle Recovery Peel. But because I have really bad melasma {hyper-pigmentation of the skin}, I've been using a prescription-only AzaClear Pads.Correct + Hydrate3. I then apply the eye cream.4. I follow by applying Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Wrinkle Recovery Overnight Serum over my face. This serum helps with spots and wrinkles, and also to improve the texture of my skin.5. I then apply the Obagi to my t-zone area.6. And I end with a night moisturizer. Here's to younger, healthier looking skin!
