Annie Leibovitz #ShareYourHero

Recently, I was speaking to someone and I was explaining to him why I chose my friend, Burcu, as my everyday hero. In his mind, a hero is someone that has done extraordinary things, but for me, a hero can also be a person that goes above and beyond on a daily basis. Someone who can put a smile on your face when you've had a rough day, who is self-less, who celebrates the little victories in life, and who is self-motivated to do great things. Because I believe that each and every one of us possess the power to change things for the better, no matter how small that change may be. Whether that may be to inspire someone in a positive way, that in itself is an accomplishment.

So when I was approached to partner with Annie Leibovitz and share my hero, I of course was beyond flattered to work on this special campaign. I chose my friend Burcu because of the things I stated above and much more which I'll explain down below.

We got together one day to play and have fun shooting for the #ShareYourHero and #WOMENxUBS campaign.

Here are more reasons why I chose my friend Burcu as my hero:

She was born and raised in Turkey, and moved to the United States to follow her husband's career. While in the US, she's moved five times and has lived in three different states. She has gracefully adapted to our culture and to the American way of living. She's a great mother to two little boys. She's a go-getter, self-motivated, and she makes things happen for herself and her family. She's a dreamer and an achiever. She celebrates the little things that brings joy to her and her family. She's a person with a positive attitude, and I really admire her character, her ethics, and her friendship. And she's always willing to lend a hand when she's needed.
